What's Cooking?
Cookies. Yum, right? If you are a cookie lover (or any dessert for that matter) this is the site for you! I'm going to pick and make one recipe every week and review it. Then I'll grade it with a scale of one to five (five being the highest and best and one the lowest) on taste, texture, how long it took to make (worst taking a long time to make), and how appealing it looks. The cookbook I'll be cooking from - at least for now - is Pillsbury Best Cookies Cookbook. Here is the link to where you can find it. Check it out if any of the reviews sound good to you.

Creamy Chocolate Lace Cheesecake

I used a different cook book for this recipe. It's called Pillsbury Best Deserts. The icing was good alone, but it didn't go great with the chocolate/cream cheese part. It was made of sour cream, 2 teaspoons of vanilla and 1 teaspoon of sugar. I think it needed a little more sugar. The lace part called for melted unsweetened chocolate drizzled in a lace pattern. We used melted semisweet chocolate, in fear that the unsweetened chocolate would be too bitter. I don't know if unsweetened chocolate melts better, but the semisweet chocolate melted, but not thin enough to drizzle. We just clumped it on and used a toothpick to spread it out. The crust calls for 24 chocolate wafers. Another recipe called for chocolate wafers, but we still don't know what exactly they are. We just used crumbled up Oreos with the frosting scraped off. It was still really good. It took very little time to mix all of the ingredients together, but took a long time in the oven, a long time to cool, and a long time to refrigerate. Overall it was a pretty good cake.
